This year, the Carnation Festival 5k Run will change to a 3.75 mile trail run/1 mile walk event. Join us on Saturday, August 13th, at the Iron Horse Trail, First Christian Church. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., race/walk begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Movie on the Silver Screen event will take place on Monday, August 8th, at Silver Park. Music, face painting, and games will be available beginning at 7 p.m., and the movie will begin at dusk. This year's feature film is Aladdin. Bring your magic carpet and enjoy theatre-style concessions including popcorn, soda, and hot dog samples from Sugardale.
As you may have heard, the Kick Off Parade and Grand Parade have been combined this year. All normal judging that previously took place at the Kick Off Parade will still take place at the Grand Parade. However, many of you will be excited to hear that the Alliance Firefighters Local 480 have decided to host a Pump In Parade this year during the Pump In festivities.
Princesses 12 years and younger are invited to spend the afternoon with the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival Queen and her court as they help you create your one of a kind princess crown. Have your picture taken with the Queen and her court! One lucky princess will even win her very own Princess tea set.
Gardeners are invited to exhibit their finest home grown cut flowers and cut leafy material on Saturday, August 13th, at the Carnation City Mall. Area gardeners are encouraged to bring entries for the classes listed on the attached info sheet, remembering that a specimen is a single, cut flower grown by the person who enters the flower.
